I have insurance with my credit card. How much is the discount or is the credit card insurance accepted?

Adobe Rent a Car allows customers to decline their Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) coverage if they use a credit card that offers similar protection. However, the credit card must be current, cover rentals in Costa Rica, and be under the name of the person renting the vehicle. Additionally, documentation proving the coverage is required. Debit cards cannot be used to decline the LDW.

I checked with my bank, and they say that I can apply for my insurance in Costa Rica. What documents should I submit?

We do accept credit card insurance. It is required to take at least basic insurance coverage – LDW, which ranges between US$13 and US$25 depending on the type of car. Efective October 1st, 2021, VISA will not offer to its cardholders of Gold and Platinum cards the benefit of the collision damage waiver for the rental cars in Costa Rica. Therefore, if they wish to decline our LDW coverage, they will not be able to do so with a VISA credit card.
