This company shows all your fees upfront, unlike the more global companies. I took all the available insurances for all contingencies. Gravel roads with lots of potholes, many pedestrians and bikes on the road, potential for vandalism or theft in sketchy areas, and crazy drivers on narrow one lane roads. Driving here is not for the faint of heart. Our car was a small 4-wheel drive SUV, perfect for the muddy, steep gravel roads. It looked almost brand new. Staff were friendly and professional. Adobe provided 5-star service from the moment we arrived at Quepos Airport. Our vehicle was waiting for us—brand new, spotless, fully fueled, and ready to go. The paperwork was quick and easy, the credit card process was seamless, and we were on our way in no time.
The vehicle itself was excellent—comfortable, reliable, great on gas mileage, and had plenty of space for our luggage. It never gave us a single issue during our trip and was perfect for exploring the coast.
One of the best decisions we made was picking up the car in Quepos and dropping it off in San José. For a very reasonable one-way fee, we were able to enjoy the freedom of driving the scenic coastal route back to the city. It turned the return trip into another adventure—stopping at beautiful beaches, exploring new areas, and enjoying the flexibility to travel at our own pace instead of rushing to catch a transfer.
A huge thank you to Warren and Jorge for making the entire rental process simple, stress-free, and enjoyable. They shared excellent recommendations for beaches, restaurants, and must-see stops along our route to Uvita and beyond.

We had a few issues with our car, and they were quite helpful with communication through WhatsApp. They were willing to swap out the car for another, but we decided not to. As a gesture, they waived any charges returning the car without a full tank. When you get the car, it has to be returned full.
We caught a 530am shuttle to the airport. Driver was awesome, and told us few places to visit next time.leer másleer menos

In that time, we've come to know and trust the personnel, and we've never had a bad experience. Our car is always clean and ready to go on our arrival, while their crew is polite, professional, efficient, cheerful, and always helpful. Our car had a low tire pressure light come on as soon as we drove away. We returned to the agency and they had us in a new car in 15 minutes. We had few issues with a car and came for help, and so quickly we were in and out. It's great to know that we could rely and rental company and also not be afraid of any hidden fees as their fees are transparent and everything is communicated in an open manner. I would say look no further and use Adobe, and if you are in this area then use this branch, the people are great. Also, by Liberia airport branch was very helpful as well. A 07/05/26my friend and I rented for the first time in Costa Rica and were so glad we went with Adobe! the experience was great. the shuttle was outside of the airport waiting for us when we landed and it was about 10 minutes to the rental store from the airport. we booked with Bryan Montoya and he was amazing! he explained everything to us and gave us great suggestions both about the car and about Costa Rica in general. we were able to quickly get our car and the car was in perfect condition. we rented a 4 wheel drive and it was so easy and reliable. highly recommend Adobe and working with Bryan!read moreread less

Never minded how slow they were before during renting, but this time they charged us for a tiny chip off a back light that we never would have noticed while reviewing the car before taking it out on the road. I've never been delayed for something so silly and small and charged money in addition to the delay it caused us. We will never rent from here again. We have had some very inefficient car rentals internationally in the past and I can’t stress how well this went from arrival to departure. Kener was our driver from the airport and he was amazing. Super friendly and helpful first person to meet when arriving. He gave us so much great information from animals, weather, activities to where to eat lunch. L E 16/02/26This is the first time I have used Adobe Car Hire and they were excellent. They arranged for me to collect my car from a service station near Guapiles as we were passing on the way back from an organised trip to Tortugero. The car had done quite a few kilometers but was in very good condition, much better than cars I have hired with less kilometers, they obviously maintain and inspect their vehicles well. The pick up and drop off was really easy with paperwork and inspections carried out quickly. At their drop off depot near the international airport it was very busy but the transfer to the airport was done very quickly. Well done to all the employees.read moreread less
Sue T 13/02/26This is the second time renting from Adobe in Liberia. There are no hidden costs and our experience with them has always been great. We booked through mytanfeet and got a good rate with a few added bonuses. We had an issue half way through our 3 week rental and Adobe dealt with it immediately. As with any other car rental company, make sure to do your inspection and photos prior to leaving so there are no questions upon return of the vehicle.

We found the entire population of Costa Ricans we encountered to be most friendly, even when they had nothing to gain by interacting with us, so maybe all of the other car rental places are as good.
However, I have rented enough cars in the US and it typically "feels" like buying a used car with a trade in..., not the best experience.

Michelle Mclaughlin 8/10/2024My recent car rental experience with Adobe Rent a Car in Liberia, Costa Rica was fantastic! I carefully read the fine print and confirmed my coverage with Mastercard and my personal car insurance company before booking. The third-party liability coverage was mandatory, but I was happy to discover that my other coverage was secured through Mastercard as long as the booking and payment were made with the same card. To confirm my coverage, I presented a letter from Capital One to the rental car company.
Arriving at Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport in Liberia, Costa Rica, we were met by an Adobe driver with a sign who drove us to the rental car office for car pickup, all part of the free service included in our booking.
The rental car office was only a 5-10 minute drive from the airport. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Jorge ( Horr-hay) aka “George” for non-Spanish speakers and his friendly staff. The office was spotless, with a water refill station and vending machine for our convenience. Jorge provided clear instructions and ensured a smooth rental experience. We were offered a free local SIM card and cooler for our car, and we opted for additional in-car WiFi. Our Toyota Venue was in perfect condition and a joy to drive for our 8-day Costa Rican adventure. When it was time to leave, we returned the car to the rental office and were on our way with the driver back to the airport within 15 minutes, thanks to quick paperwork and bag loading.
Adobe Rent a Car provided excellent service, and I felt well taken care of throughout the entire process. This is one of the better rental car experiences I've had. The cost for the rental was reasonable compared to other local rental car places. Highly recommend this car rental company and their local office in Liberia, Costa Rica for anyone visiting and looking for a rental car.read moreread less

This company shows all your fees upfront, unlike the more global companies. I took all the available insurances for all contingencies. Gravel roads with lots of potholes, many pedestrians and bikes on the road, potential for vandalism or theft in sketchy areas, and crazy drivers on narrow one lane roads. Driving here is not for the faint of heart. Our car was a small 4-wheel drive SUV, perfect for the muddy, steep gravel roads. It looked almost brand new. Staff were friendly and professional. Adobe provided 5-star service from the moment we arrived at Quepos Airport. Our vehicle was waiting for us—brand new, spotless, fully fueled, and ready to go. The paperwork was quick and easy, the credit card process was seamless, and we were on our way in no time.
The vehicle itself was excellent—comfortable, reliable, great on gas mileage, and had plenty of space for our luggage. It never gave us a single issue during our trip and was perfect for exploring the coast.
One of the best decisions we made was picking up the car in Quepos and dropping it off in San José. For a very reasonable one-way fee, we were able to enjoy the freedom of driving the scenic coastal route back to the city. It turned the return trip into another adventure—stopping at beautiful beaches, exploring new areas, and enjoying the flexibility to travel at our own pace instead of rushing to catch a transfer.
A huge thank you to Warren and Jorge for making the entire rental process simple, stress-free, and enjoyable. They shared excellent recommendations for beaches, restaurants, and must-see stops along our route to Uvita and beyond.

They arranged for me to collect my car from a service station near Guapiles as we were passing on the way back from an organised trip to Tortugero. We booked through mytanfeet and got a good rate with a few added bonuses. We had an issue half way through our 3 week rental and Adobe dealt with it immediately.
