Peter Gallant 9/10/2025Adobe Rental Car was excellent. From the very beginning, their prices were very transparent. Some of the other rental car agencies, I couldn't tell if it included liability insurance and how much liability insurance, but Adobe makes it very clear what's included in their rental price, so you know what you're getting. And you can choose, if you want to, to beef up the liability insurance. And it's very clear, too, that you can use your credit card for the lost damage waiver portion. So that was one positive point with Adobe. Very transparent and clear. And second, for surfers, they'll put on a crossbar over your roof rails that make it easy for you to put a surfboard on it. No extra charge. It's just no charge at all. So the car was good. No surprises turned it in. No extra charges. I would definitely rent from Adobe again if I was visiting Costa Rica.leer másleer menos

The staff were friendly and helpful during the pick up and drop off process, they looked at the car with us when we picked it up and marked any scratches or dents, we also took photos and videos just in case. We had no problem declining the other insurances as we had proof through our credit card company. We booked through mytanfeet website for a discount. Rob Chryston 9/02/2025I had mixed feelings about my experience renting with Adobe. First, the positives: the office was extremely well staffed with many people. I definitely felt like they were very fair and honest at every step of the transaction. No insurance upsell BS that is common from other companies in Costa Rica.
The “not so good”: the pick up location is not very large at all. As a result, when you arrive, you are asked to wait in an area of the garage until someone can help you. This was fine at first, until another shuttle showed up and suddenly there were 15 people all with bags clustered together with no air conditioning - not very fun. The bigger problem I had was that my car was not ready when I got there. After signing the rental contract, etc. I had to wait another 40 minutes (again, with no A/C) for them to bring the car from another location (?) perhaps because the Adobe office only has room forleer másleer menos

Chris Atkinson 8/16/2025I’ve heard from multiple people that you can rent cheaper from small local places, but I would rent from nobody other than Adobe. They have provided excellent customer service. They were scheduled to pick up my rental at my location and arrived on time, down to the minute. When we rented again a few weeks later, the car that was delivered was one model year older. Not an old vehicle, but just one year old. The issue was that the vehicle experienced a remodel for the current model year and the newest model has a larger interior. When we expressed concern about being able to fit all of our luggage in this car, the company immediately drove in the latest model from two hours away and swapped out our vehicle for us on-site at our place within four hours of starting our rental period. They didn’t have to do this for us, but went over and above to make this happen for us. I am very impressed with the Adobe team and would highly recommend renting from them.leer másleer menos
Waldi Ludwikowski 8/05/2025Great experience with Puerto Viejo branch. We got almost brand new Hyundai Kona. Car was delivered to our hotel free of charge. Fully professional, formalities took 10 min. Totally recommend. What is more, we got stuck in Puerto day before as our "taxi driver" could not find our hotel. Jakob Thuemoes 7/31/2025We had the best experience using Adobe. We purchased the full insurance, which turned out to be a good idea, as driving in Costa Rica does present challenges. The staff was ever so helpful and polite and the car was virtually brand new and worked perfectly. Also, the customer support on WhatsApp was very swift and we felt very safe using Adobe.
I also by accident dropped my Mastercard at the office when we were heading to the airport. The office staff found the card and were ever so helpful and made sure the card was destroyed on my instructions, so it didn't fell into the wrong hands.

Dustin Witham 7/28/2025I wish I could give this company more stars. Adobe was the best all around. The airport coordinator and the shuttle driver were so nice and helpful. The gentlemen taking my information had everything ready from my preregistration and explained everything in detail. He provided a receipt with a QR code that directed me to a website with directions in English for anything I needed including what to do if I was in an accident. The vehicle was spotless and exactly what we needed for our travels. Our plans changed for the return time and they ended up sending 2 guys (we had 2 cars) to pick them up at the airport hotel we ended up staying in the day before our early AM flight. We had forgotten to fill up and they did charge for the gas but did not gouge us like any other rental car company would. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone staying in Costa Rica. The best thing, though, was that when our flight was delayed, we were able to keep the car a few extra hours without a hassle. We were very thankful that we went with a local company - when I called to discuss our situation, I actually talked to a real person that was in the country.. no waiting for hours clicking through automated menus. Jennifer Haydu 6/30/2025I rarely get customer service this good, especially when traveling. Often times as a traveler, especially from the US, people try to scam you or work you over for extra money, and the people at Adobe were the opposite. Alonso and the crew there were so helpful, so polite, so flexible. They went out of their way to make things smooth for us, and even came to our rental to pick up the cars so we did not have to drive them back to Tamarindo (about 30 min from us) and did not charge for it. Let me tell you, that would NEVER happen in the US. No hidden fees, no hard up selling, just genuine hospitality and WAY better prices than the other places around. They are doing business the best way and I HIGHLY recommend them.leer másleer menos

They explained every charge (which was actually quite reasonable compared to the bigger chains), didn't pressure me into any add ons or purchases, were extremely helpful even when I chnaged my plans mid-rental and decided to drive it to San Jose for drop off! - Eric Finch 15/05/25I did a ton of research before our trip and had seen several horror stories of rental companies (NOT Adobe) that charged hidden fees, etc... and all of the posts I saw seemed to point to Adobe as being the most reputable rental car company. It was absolutely true. This was the best rental car experience I've had anywhere, let alone internationally.
They were extremely professional, transparent, and helpful. The car was great and held up on some roads that were rocky and had standing water.
This was my first trip to Costa Rica and it was absolutely incredible, I will definitely come back, and I will exclusively be renting cars from Adobe because of how great our experience was with them. Thank you Adoberead moreread less

Or the customer service, we arrived 10 minutes early for reservation and were made to wait. We waited till 20 minutes after our reservation before receiving our car. This seems like a small thing, but we had already been flying for 12 hours at this point. We got a Hyundai Palisade which was in very good condition and very clean. As an unexpected bonus it was diesel! Cheaper fuel with better range? Yes please!
Someone had hit my door handle on the second last day we had the car which caused some paint to come off. I showed it to the staff upon return and he said it wasn't a problem. They encourage you to take a video of the car at the start and finish of your contract to ensure you don't get blamed for any damage you didn't cause. All very transparent and honest.

Our Kia Sportage from Adobe handled it well with no issues. The customer service was great, from pickup at the San Jose airport to picking up the car at our hotel at the end of our trip. - Michelle Mclaughlin 8/10/2024My recent car rental experience with Adobe Rent a Car in Liberia, Costa Rica was fantastic! I carefully read the fine print and confirmed my coverage with Mastercard and my personal car insurance company before booking. The third-party liability coverage was mandatory, but I was happy to discover that my other coverage was secured through Mastercard as long as the booking and payment were made with the same card. To confirm my coverage, I presented a letter from Capital One to the rental car company.
Arriving at Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport in Liberia, Costa Rica, we were met by an Adobe driver with a sign who drove us to the rental car office for car pickup, all part of the free service included in our booking.
The rental car office was only a 5-10 minute drive from the airport. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Jorge ( Horr-hay) aka “George” for non-Spanish speakers and his friendly staff. The office was spotless, with a water refill station and vending machine for our convenience. Jorge provided clear instructions and ensured a smooth rental experience. We were offered a free local SIM card and cooler for our car, and we opted for additional in-car WiFi. Our Toyota Venue was in perfect condition and a joy to drive for our 8-day Costa Rican adventure. The issue was that the vehicle experienced a remodel for the current model year and the newest model has a larger interior. They didn’t have to do this for us, but went over and above to make this happen for us. Someone had hit my door handle on the second last day we had the car which caused some paint to come off. I showed it to the staff upon return and he said it wasn't a problem. They encourage you to take a video of the car at the start and finish of your contract to ensure you don't get blamed for any damage you didn't cause. All very transparent and honest.
