Visiting Nosara – what to do

One of the area’s favorite pastimes is enjoying Nosara nature and wildlife. Every year nesting Olive Ridley and leatherback sea turtles arrive to lay their eggs at Playa Ostional.

The impressive event is known locally as the Arribadas (the arrivals). Hundreds of sea turtles come to lay their eggs in Ostional’s warm sands. Scientists, naturalists, and nature lovers also flock to Nosara during the nesting season.

Ostional Wildlife Refuge is the site of the Nosara River Delta and mangrove estuary. Kayaking the estuary waters is a great way to spot birds and wildlife.
