Pickup at the airport, transfer, check-in, straightforward explanation of different insurance: all excellent. Super people. Drop-off was great too. During my first rental, I felt uncomfortable due to the attitude of the rental agent, Jennifer. She was constantly insisting and pressuring us to buy additional insurance, even after we clearly explained that we already had coverage through our credit card. That kind of behavior feels intrusive and unpleasant.
This second experience was completely different. Our rental agent, Leo, was excellent. He was very kind, professional, and straightforward. He clearly explained the insurance we already had, the coverage included, and the optional protections available, without repeating himself unnecessarily or trying to convince us to buy something we did not need. That made us feel comfortable and welcome as customers.
As a client, I believe this is something the company should have under control, because renting a car should be a pleasant experience where you feel respected, not pressured.
Aside from that, we loved the car. As always, we received free airport transportation, and the overall service is excellent. We 100% recommend renting with Adobe.leer másleer menos

Cameron McCord 1/18/2026I don't give out 5-star reviews lightly. I would rent from these guys again in a heartbeat. The office was super responsive by email clarifying my hotel pickup. The agents at the rental location spoke very good English. During the pickup process their computer came up with a higher price than my email quote but the agent promptly worked the system to bring the price down. The car was nearly new and met my expectations and needs. The final drop off process was smooth and friendly and I got my deposit back in full. The total rental price was right in line with the few other reputable agencies that roll in the mandatory insurance up front.
There are several travel agencies that grant you a 10% discount at Adobe. We used "two weeks in costa rica" which is generally a good resource.leer másleer menos
Roman Shev 1/18/2026This company was recommended by ChatGPT =)) so we decided to try. We were met at the airport, and the paperwork took about 20 minutes. We chose full insurance, which was a bit more expensive but felt safer. Keep in mind that you’ll need to pay a deposit when renting, which is returned once you bring the car back. When picking up the car, make sure to take photos or videos for your own protection, to document any existing scratches or damage. Everything went smoothly for us. When returning the car, it was inspected quickly, the deposit was refunded, and we were taken back to the airport. Overall, everything was quite professional.leer másleer menos

They delivered the car to our hotel the day after we arrived so no hassles at the airport. And they picked it up from our hotel the day before our departure. We lost a license plate during our journey and customer service was outstanding. They immediately changed the car and only charged a very small amount for the plate. Only great things to sayleer másleer menos
Zain Sirohey 1/14/2026We rented an AWD SUV in November 2025, and received a brand new Kia Sportage! The shuttle service and office were very well managed and efficient. There were no hidden fees or unknown insurance requirements, everything is clearly laid out on their website while booking.
Unfortunately, we were involved in a car accident where another vehicle rear-ended us. However, Adobe went above and beyond any expectations in assisting us! The car was undrivable and practically totalled, we spoke with Adobe who helped coordinate with police, insurance, a tow truck, and a taxi to get us to our destination. They also delivered us a replacement vehicle the same night. The taxi, tow truck, and replacement were all included and free of charge.
As we did use our Credit Card for insurance, the damages to the vehicle were billed directly to us. Adobe promptly provided all documentation to us, enabling us to submit a claim to our insurance and receive a full refund for damages.leer másleer menos
George McMillian 1/14/2026This was my first time renting a car - plus it was not in my home country so I definitely had some nerves. But, it all went well. I was allowed to take a video of the car before in order to verify any possible damage or large scratches..etc. Fortunately, didn't need that. Staff was very cool and communicative. My favorite part of the whole trip was having a car to get around. Absolutely stunning views, cool opportunities to stop and get some fresh fruit or coconut juice. And great excursion opportunities that we would not be able to do if we chose the bus. I would do it again for sure.leer másleer menos

The vehicle was as reserved/described and in excellent condition. Adobe‘s terms, conditions, pricing, and insurance policies were all very transparent and easy-to-understand (though it’s advisable to do your research before renting for the first time in any country). Scott Richardson 1/06/2026We recently visited Costa Rica over Xmas and New Years 2025/26. We rented a car for 2 weeks from Adobe. Everything was phenomenal from being picked up at the airport and shuttled to their location. It's a 10 minute shuttle from the airport. Everything was in order and ready when we got there. We just had to follow through with the final paper work and we were off on our adventures. They even had the car started and AC on which we turned off right away and opened the windows to have the beautiful Costa Rican heat since we are from Canada. We were given a Kia Soluto as a rental. It is a small front wheel drive car. For first timers in Costa Rica, if you want to just stay on main highways and tourist areas that are paved it was a great car. We went from Panilla just outside of Tamarindo all the way down to south of Uvita. The roads outside of the main highways and roads are gravel and rough gravel at that. We had to go really slow so we didn't bottom out. And the dust! wow. The car took us places we had no right to be in with it. If I did it again I would rent a vehicle with higher clearance and better suspension. An AWD or 4x4 would be preferred if you are going to be doing any adventurous outings. We visited CloudBridge Nature Reserve. It was beautiful. Fortunately our Air BnB host took us in their Hilux 4x4 as the car would never have made it. Also we wanted to visit a coffee farm and the one we chose to go to had a driveway so steep we decided not to go. All in all I would definitely rent from Adobe again!!!!! There was no hidden BS and upselling of what was required. I recommend them 100%.leer másleer menos
Brittney Kilgore 1/06/2026We had a great experience with Adobe car rental. We had a pretty much brand new Geely 2WD smaller SUV which had more than enough space for me and my partner. All of the vehicles were clean and seemed to be newer at the pick up location. I had insurance through my AMEX car and did not have to opt into theirs. There is a temporary hold on your credit card as with some rentals, but this was immediately lifted once the car was returned. They also offered flexibility leaving the vehicle at the San Jose airport since we had a very early flight out that morning. The check in process was smooth and they give tons of resources if you have any questions or issues while renting the car. Would definitely rent here again!leer másleer menos

Luke 12/30/2025Top-class service from the Adobe Car Rental staff and especially Dixon Smith, who delivered the vehicle right on time and gave us a thorough rundown of contract, pricing, etc.
The included cooler was unavailable at the moment of rental, but he and his colleague went the extra mile and dropped by at our breakfast spot once it freed up.
This was my second experience with Adobe, both times for a cross-country trip of two weeks. Definitely won't be the last one.

Denise Foster 22/12/25We rented an SUV from Adobe through their Liberia airport site. Having rented from many agencies in various companies, we felt compelled to send our review. Our experience with Adobe was top notch. It began with the arrival at the airport, where we were greeted by the agent and delivered to the car rental site afew miles away. Entry into the office, where an agent was already assigned and waiting. We were warmly greeted and after brief but efficient paperwork, led outdoors to our waiting vehicle. The inspection had been done in advance so it was a quick review to be certain we were satisfied, and we were on our way. The little extras, affiliated with our booking agent, “My Tan Feet” included a small cooler and a Sim Card for my phone.
So very appreciated.
The car was superb throughout our stay.
Our return of the car was rapid and efficient. Paperwork and communication was very clear and seamless.
The shuttle was waiting to take us to the airport and our emailed confirmatory invoice arrived in our inbox before our short drive was complete.
We are returning to Costa Rica in early 2027 and will definitely be booking our car rental again through Adobe.
An excellent experience! Definitely 5 star performance by this Liberia staff and the Adobe company.

Jeff Herr 21/11/25As with others, efficient,polite, smooth service with no surprises after booking online. Got the Hyundai Kona we reserved.
Had some minor damage upon returning the car. This is where their true colours showed. Nothing was broken but it was clear they had some labour needed to remove a scratch and to clean up some scuffs on a moulding near the ground. The scratch I believe would be 100% correction but the scuff probably not. I had pre photos and it was clearly during our rental period and I was prepared to suffer the consequences but Adobe said “no problem “ and deemed it not necessary to make any claim or add any charges. I declined their insurance as I had credit card insurance. I would have been happy with some sort of cash settlement $100 - 200 for the damage repair and compensation for the amount that was uncorrectable. Super happy with Adobe cannot recommend enough.
Side note: Another family we were with had rented thru Vamos. They seemed great service wise but the Chinese made vehicle was a surprisingly bad vehicle, both drivability and reliability. We traded one for another mid rental for them. It was very smooth no questions asked, but the next one was similar with less prevalent issues but still getting a “take car to service message”, and drove like a gm from the 90s. For the roads in Costa Rica I recommend a good vehicle. The driving is very all-consuming and can be really enjoyable (if you enjoy driving), but not if the vehicle shifts poorly or has sloppy handling.

- Connie C 14/11/25Someone recommended Adobe after we had trouble reserving through National, Hertz in Liberia, CR. Adobe's website and everything else was straightforward and efficient. A driver was waiting for us with a sign outside Liberia airport, then drove us to Adobe (10 minutes on Rt 21 west of LIR). Their office is modern, paperwork efficient and thorough, and 15 minutes later we drove away in a fairly new Hundai Tuscon small SUV with all-wheel drive. The car was perfect. And Jorge was a pleasure to work with. He's fluent in English, very organized, smart, knowledgeable, and didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need. We bought maximum insurance coverage & roadside assist (~$275) and listened carefully to advice about driving in Costa Rica. Returning the car was just as straightforward and quick, followed by a courtesy van that drove us to the airport. Simple! We wish Adobe would expand into the U.S.read moreread less

We had them come pick up the vehicle at Riu resort last week, very easy very friendly.
On a side note unlike the rental companies here they do consider light scratches in the vehicle as damage, there were a few that werent narked on the sheet. We found the entire population of Costa Ricans we encountered to be most friendly, even when they had nothing to gain by interacting with us, so maybe all of the other car rental places are as good.
However, I have rented enough cars in the US and it typically "feels" like buying a used car with a trade in..., not the best experience.

I carefully read the fine print and confirmed my coverage with Mastercard and my personal car insurance company before booking. The third-party liability coverage was mandatory, but I was happy to discover that my other coverage was secured through Mastercard as long as the booking and payment were made with the same card. To confirm my coverage, I presented a letter from Capital One to the rental car company.
Arriving at Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport in Liberia, Costa Rica, we were met by an Adobe driver with a sign who drove us to the rental car office for car pickup, all part of the free service included in our booking.
The rental car office was only a 5-10 minute drive from the airport. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Jorge ( Horr-hay) aka “George” for non-Spanish speakers and his friendly staff. The office was spotless, with a water refill station and vending machine for our convenience. Jorge provided clear instructions and ensured a smooth rental experience. We were offered a free local SIM card and cooler for our car, and we opted for additional in-car WiFi. Our Toyota Venue was in perfect condition and a joy to drive for our 8-day Costa Rican adventure. When it was time to leave, we returned the car to the rental office and were on our way with the driver back to the airport within 15 minutes, thanks to quick paperwork and bag loading.
Adobe Rent a Car provided excellent service, and I felt well taken care of throughout the entire process. This is one of the better rental car experiences I've had. The cost for the rental was reasonable compared to other local rental car places. Highly recommend this car rental company and their local office in Liberia, Costa Rica for anyone visiting and looking for a rental car.read moreread less
