Jeffrey Cannon 3/02/2026A really great experience for a first time renter in CR. Price was good considering we got full insurance. Car was a compact SUV that is perfect for CR narrow roads. Vehicle was clean and well appointed with console display, back up cam, collision monitors and more. Even more impressive was their customer service. After returning the car and arriving at the airport, we realized my wife had accidentally left her glasses in the vehicle. The team responded unbelievably fast and made sure the glasses were delivered back to us right away.

L E 2/16/2026This is the first time I have used Adobe Car Hire and they were excellent. They arranged for me to collect my car from a service station near Guapiles as we were passing on the way back from an organised trip to Tortugero. The car had done quite a few kilometers but was in very good condition, much better than cars I have hired with less kilometers, they obviously maintain and inspect their vehicles well. The pick up and drop off was really easy with paperwork and inspections carried out quickly. At their drop off depot near the international airport it was very busy but the transfer to the airport was done very quickly. Well done to all the employees.leer másleer menos
Sue T 2/13/2026This is the second time renting from Adobe in Liberia. There are no hidden costs and our experience with them has always been great. We booked through mytanfeet and got a good rate with a few added bonuses. We had an issue half way through our 3 week rental and Adobe dealt with it immediately. As with any other car rental company, make sure to do your inspection and photos prior to leaving so there are no questions upon return of the vehicle.

We rented a car from Adobe in Costa Rica and had a deeply troubling experience. While driving from San José to Jacó, the engine shut off five times on the highway, requiring us to restart the vehicle in traffic. In one instance, a car behind us nearly crashed into us. This was a serious safety issue.
We reported the problem immediately upon arrival at our Airbnb. Adobe acknowledged the issue and proposed a specific time to deliver a replacement vehicle. We adjusted our plans and waited for that time. When the car did not arrive, we were told it was delayed, then given a later time. This pattern repeated multiple times throughout the day.
At several points, customer service stated that the driver was “nearby” or “almost there.” However, when we contacted the driver directly, we were told they were over an hour away. Each update contradicted the last, and we were repeatedly asked to keep waiting based on information that turned out to be untrue.
In the end, no replacement vehicle arrived at time communicated, and we were forced to continue driving an unsafe car back to San José. Guest services promised compensation, but when we spoke with management in person, they stated they could not estimate or confirm any compensation.
This experience caused significant stress and disrupted our trip. Providing a safe vehicle and honest communication are the bare minimum for a rental company, and Adobe failed on both.

- Paula Pflepsen 30/01/26The Adobe office Liberia was excellent, although it is quite far from the town of Liberia. The staff answered all questions, made recommendations and got me on the road. Buy the added insurance! We had several vehicle issues occur during our trip and Adobe was very responsive. They sent out service crews to change and repair tires, charge batteries and ultimately swapped out a vehicle for a new one. No extra charges. Everything included in the initial rental.

During my first rental, I felt uncomfortable due to the attitude of the rental agent, Jennifer. She was constantly insisting and pressuring us to buy additional insurance, even after we clearly explained that we already had coverage through our credit card. That kind of behavior feels intrusive and unpleasant.
This second experience was completely different. Our rental agent, Leo, was excellent. He was very kind, professional, and straightforward. He clearly explained the insurance we already had, the coverage included, and the optional protections available, without repeating himself unnecessarily or trying to convince us to buy something we did not need. That made us feel comfortable and welcome as customers.
As a client, I believe this is something the company should have under control, because renting a car should be a pleasant experience where you feel respected, not pressured.
Aside from that, we loved the car. As always, we received free airport transportation, and the overall service is excellent. We 100% recommend renting with Adobe.read moreread less

We chose full insurance, which was a bit more expensive but felt safer. Keep in mind that you’ll need to pay a deposit when renting, which is returned once you bring the car back. When picking up the car, make sure to take photos or videos for your own protection, to document any existing scratches or damage. Everything went smoothly for us. When returning the car, it was inspected quickly, the deposit was refunded, and we were taken back to the airport. Overall, everything was quite professional.read moreread less

Zain Sirohey 14/01/26We rented an AWD SUV in November 2025, and received a brand new Kia Sportage! The shuttle service and office were very well managed and efficient. There were no hidden fees or unknown insurance requirements, everything is clearly laid out on their website while booking.
Unfortunately, we were involved in a car accident where another vehicle rear-ended us. However, Adobe went above and beyond any expectations in assisting us! The car was undrivable and practically totalled, we spoke with Adobe who helped coordinate with police, insurance, a tow truck, and a taxi to get us to our destination. They also delivered us a replacement vehicle the same night. The taxi, tow truck, and replacement were all included and free of charge.
As we did use our Credit Card for insurance, the damages to the vehicle were billed directly to us. Adobe promptly provided all documentation to us, enabling us to submit a claim to our insurance and receive a full refund for damages.read moreread less

I was allowed to take a video of the car before in order to verify any possible damage or large scratches..etc. Fortunately, didn't need that. Staff was very cool and communicative. My favorite part of the whole trip was having a car to get around. Absolutely stunning views, cool opportunities to stop and get some fresh fruit or coconut juice. Scott Richardson 06/01/26We recently visited Costa Rica over Xmas and New Years 2025/26. We rented a car for 2 weeks from Adobe. Everything was phenomenal from being picked up at the airport and shuttled to their location. It's a 10 minute shuttle from the airport. Everything was in order and ready when we got there. We just had to follow through with the final paper work and we were off on our adventures. They even had the car started and AC on which we turned off right away and opened the windows to have the beautiful Costa Rican heat since we are from Canada. We were given a Kia Soluto as a rental. It is a small front wheel drive car. For first timers in Costa Rica, if you want to just stay on main highways and tourist areas that are paved it was a great car. We went from Panilla just outside of Tamarindo all the way down to south of Uvita. The roads outside of the main highways and roads are gravel and rough gravel at that. We had to go really slow so we didn't bottom out. And the dust! wow. The car took us places we had no right to be in with it. If I did it again I would rent a vehicle with higher clearance and better suspension. An AWD or 4x4 would be preferred if you are going to be doing any adventurous outings. We visited CloudBridge Nature Reserve. It was beautiful. Fortunately our Air BnB host took us in their Hilux 4x4 as the car would never have made it. Also we wanted to visit a coffee farm and the one we chose to go to had a driveway so steep we decided not to go. All in all I would definitely rent from Adobe again!!!!! There was no hidden BS and upselling of what was required. I recommend them 100%.read moreread less

We found the entire population of Costa Ricans we encountered to be most friendly, even when they had nothing to gain by interacting with us, so maybe all of the other car rental places are as good.
However, I have rented enough cars in the US and it typically "feels" like buying a used car with a trade in..., not the best experience.

- Michelle Mclaughlin 8/10/2024My recent car rental experience with Adobe Rent a Car in Liberia, Costa Rica was fantastic! I carefully read the fine print and confirmed my coverage with Mastercard and my personal car insurance company before booking. The third-party liability coverage was mandatory, but I was happy to discover that my other coverage was secured through Mastercard as long as the booking and payment were made with the same card. To confirm my coverage, I presented a letter from Capital One to the rental car company.
Arriving at Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport in Liberia, Costa Rica, we were met by an Adobe driver with a sign who drove us to the rental car office for car pickup, all part of the free service included in our booking.
The rental car office was only a 5-10 minute drive from the airport. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Jorge ( Horr-hay) aka “George” for non-Spanish speakers and his friendly staff. The office was spotless, with a water refill station and vending machine for our convenience. Jorge provided clear instructions and ensured a smooth rental experience. We were offered a free local SIM card and cooler for our car, and we opted for additional in-car WiFi. Our Toyota Venue was in perfect condition and a joy to drive for our 8-day Costa Rican adventure. When it was time to leave, we returned the car to the rental office and were on our way with the driver back to the airport within 15 minutes, thanks to quick paperwork and bag loading.
Adobe Rent a Car provided excellent service, and I felt well taken care of throughout the entire process. This is one of the better rental car experiences I've had. The cost for the rental was reasonable compared to other local rental car places. Highly recommend this car rental company and their local office in Liberia, Costa Rica for anyone visiting and looking for a rental car.read moreread less

They fixed our flat. (Long and funny story, since it unknowingly occurred less than a km from their office). Drove us to the hotel, which was a few km's away, when we dropped the car off. Cole Grace 2/24/2021DO NOY USE ADOBE: When we got our rental car we did a visual inspection of the outside and there were a couple scratches but nothing major. After staying at RIU Guanacaste, on the way to Sarapiqui, I slowly drove over a speed bump entering a traffic circle (by the McDonalds near the highway) and the bumper of the car fell off. I had to get out in traffic and maneuver the bumper into the back of the vehicle. It was extremely unsafe and we are lucky that it didn’t come off on the highway at a high rate of speed.
When we got to Sarapiqui I noticed almost all of the bumper clips were broken. I was still able to snap the bumper back in place without it falling off, but it was dangerous to drive so I kept it off. I could have snapped it back in place right before we returned the vehicle, but I didn’t want someone else to be rented an unsafe vehicle. Adobe charged me $1000 and I’m furious because there’s no way I did that damage, we didn't even go on any dirt roads. Pics in comments!read moreread less
