See all of our available options below to choose the coverage that best suits your company\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n<h2>Third Party Liability (PLI)<\/h2>\n<p>Third Party Liability (PLI) is mandatory for all vehicle rentals in Costa Rica and offers limited liability coverage for incidents involving third parties. Since it cannot be declined, it is already included in your quote.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Third-party property damage: up to US$20,000, with a deductible of US$1,130 including tax.<\/li>\n<li>Injury or death of third parties not traveling inside the rental car: up to US$100,000 per accident, with no deductible.<\/li>\n<li>PLI does not cover any damage to the rented vehicle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Vehicle Protection (LDW)<\/h2>\n<p>Provides basic coverage for the vehicle for the duration of your rental:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Covers partial or total loss of the rental car due to collision or rollover, as well as partial or total theft, in accordance with Adobe Rent a Car\u2019s terms and conditions.<\/li>\n<li>It has a deductible of US$1,130 including tax.<\/li>\n<li>For corporate clients, LDW is part of the basic insurance required for the rental and cannot be declined.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Please note that vandalism, tire and window damage, as well as third-party damages, are not covered under LDW.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Basic Insurance<\/h2>\n<p>Basic Insurance includes Third Party Liability (PLI) and Vehicle Protection (LDW), with a deductible of US$1,130 including tax, according to the conditions set out in the rental agreement.<\/p>\n<h2>Extended Protection Coverage (SPP)<\/h2>\n<div class=\"entry-content-asset videofit\"><iframe title=\"Protecci\u00f3n Extendida (SPP) o Seguro Total - Adobe Rent a Car\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Yj_4dYceGGY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>With our optional Extended Protection Coverage (SPP), your security concerns are covered. It is a solid, complete coverage so your company can work with peace of mind.<\/p>\n<h2>Our SPP includes:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>A US$0 deductible for both damage to the vehicle and damage to third parties.<\/li>\n<li>Extends liability for third-party property damage up to US$2,000,000 per event.<\/li>\n<li>Covers damage to the vehicle up to its value, plus vandalism, tires, windows and partial or total loss.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>24\/7 Roadside Assistance<\/h2>\n<p>With any coverage, 24\/7 roadside assistance and tow truck service are included, according to the applicable conditions. To request it, call our 24\/7 Emergency line at +506 2542-4888.<\/p>\n<h2>Security deposit<\/h2>\n<p>When the rental is backed by a valid purchase order, the purchase order replaces the security deposit, so you do not need to present a credit card for that purpose.<\/p>\n<h2>What are the coverage exceptions?<\/h2>\n<p>The following coverage exceptions apply to all of Adobe\u2019s rental car insurance options.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Failure to report the incident to Adobe Rent a Car immediately after the event.<\/li>\n<li>If the driver is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.<\/li>\n<li>If the vehicle is damaged and the driver was not authorized or registered in the rental agreement.<\/li>\n<li>Damage of any kind caused by driving through rivers, lakes, beaches, mangroves, flooded roads, or any other unofficial road or territory (i.e., cross-country).<\/li>\n<li>Failure to comply with any legal requirements and coverage claim processes with the insurance company, including but not limited to:\n<ul>\n<li>Failure to report the accident to the Traffic Police.<\/li>\n<li>Failure to report the accident and fill out the insurance company\u2019s claim.<\/li>\n<li>Failure to comply with any other legal requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What happens if the driver commits a traffic violation?<\/h2>\n<p>The customer must pay the penalty before returning the vehicle.
